As an admin, view Port as…

With View as, Port admins can instantly see the platform through any user’s permissions to validate access, debug RBAC issues, and troubleshoot confidently - securely and without impersonation.

As an admin, view Port as…

We’re excited to announce the launch of our community’s most requested feature: View as - which lets Org Admins experience Port exactly as any user in their organization.

It’s a simple, secure way to reproduce permission issues, validate RBAC, and troubleshoot without relying on screenshots or troubleshooting logs. This is Port’s most-requested feature - more than 150 votes on Canny.

“View as” feature request (Canny)

Start a View as session from the user entity or the top menu and you’ll immediately see Port with that member’s effective permissions.

“View as” mode - admin viewing as another user

Security is our guiding principle. View as isn’t impersonation. Admins act with the user’s product permissions, but every action in a View as session is attributed to the operating admin. Audit logs indicate the action was performed by an admin viewing as the user.

We shipped this as an MVP to help admins move faster and reduce friction: reproduce bugs, validate permissions changes immediately, and troubleshoot where it matters.
